La preparazione degli insetti imbalsamati richiede l’utilizzo di tecniche e strumenti specifici.

La tecniche di preparazione nella tassidermia degli insetti, cambia anche in base ai gruppi o taxa che vogliamo mantenere nel tempo. I lepidotteri o farfalle imbalsamate, ad esempio necessitano dell’utilizzo di stenditoi su cui adagiare l’esemplare ad ali aperte. Una volta secco, l’insetto manterrà per sempre, se non reidratato, quella posizione. I coleotteri, si preparano su cartellini appositi, se particolarmente piccoli, oppure si spillano nell’elitra destra in alto. (www.taxidermyhouse.it)

 specimen with open wings. Once dry, the insect will keep that position forever,
